A new species of amphibian I discovered in the Chesapeake bay region during June of 2014 !!! The Snakehead Frog. Bearing a similar resemblance to the facial features of the tiny narrow mouthed toad, this frog was the size of the similar colored northern green frog with protruding dual lateral lines of skin down the length of it's back and retained less bumps than the narrow mouthed toad. In a forested area above a wetland in a residential/agricultural zone not far from the Patuxent Wildlife Refuge, it may be a rarely seen burrowing species considering the substrate was loamy and it was raining. I tried to contact several universities including towson and umd. It was a week or two before they responded with dismissive emails. Later I found out the confirmation of a new species costs thousands of dollars to implement so since I am not affiliated with a university they don't benefit from recognition which proves profits are more important to them than scientific discovery which is contrad...
